Hello from Malta - Il-Vapur tal-Art

Our song is about the train which operated between Mdina (our old capital city) and Valletta (our capital city today). The train operated between 1883 and 1931. In 1931 the train stopped functioning, as it was too expensive to run. In a public garden in Birkirkara, one can find the remains of a train carriage and a former station used at the time when the train was a means of transport between the two cities.

"The Maltese train always worked at a loss,
But this train was a unique one which could not be found elsewhere..."
